Rodrigo and Deborah’s passion for coffee ignited during their time in Southern California, but it wasn’t until the early 2010’s when they truly dove into the coffee industry. With years of experience and a commitment to quality, they have cultivated a menu that reflects their dedication to exceptional coffee. They roast all their coffee beans locally, ensuring freshness in every cup. In addition, they take pride in visiting farmers markets in the area to connect with the community and grow their loyal customer base. From meticulously sourced beans to innovative brewing methods, every cup at Hypergoat Café is a testament to their love for the craft.
The name "Hypergoat" has a unique origin that adds an intriguing layer to the café's identity. It comes from the Ethiopian tale of Kaldi, a story that celebrates the discovery of coffee. According to the legend, Kaldi discovered the coffee bean after noticing how energized and lively his goats became after eating the berries from a certain tree. This narrative perfectly encapsulates Rodrigo and Deborah's passion for coffee and their desire to bring that same energy and excitement to their customers.
